My little sister turned 21… TWENTY – ONE!! I cant believe it.
She was lucky enough to get the gift of a party, and I was lucky enough to throw it.
Continue on to see this beautiful Summer Sunset Garden party we put together to celebrate!
Like most of our parties this is a DIY party so look forward to A LOT of how to tutorials!
From Pretzel stands to Simple flower cakes and even a Prosecco Stand, ill show you how to make it all!
Decorations:

I wanted to keep my decorations fairly simple and clean so for each table i filled my light bulb shaped vases with artificial flower’s that i got in the floral section at Michales, and alternated Big bulb, small bulb to total 4 bulbs down the center of each table. this created the Perfect look to tie everything together.

Another main staple in our party was this super cool DIY pallet drink stand. the best part about this is that it serves two purposes… beautiful decoration and keeps our drinks cool and easily accessible. Again flowers from Michales and i just pull them off the stem so they lay flat, and the Galvanized tubs are also from Michales. Orange and Yellow clothes are custom dyed.

DIY custom dyed paper circle backdrop is waaay easier then you would think. Tutorial coming soon! (no they are not supposed to be tacos, yes i know thats what they look like, and yes now I am craving a Doritos Locos Taco LOL )
Bubbly Stand:

i felt it was only fitting for a 21st Birthday to pop some bubbles to celebrate! We built this custom stand, that was perviously used as a lemonaid stand for another party, and transformed it into the perfect Prosecco stand.
I placed several bottles there in the gap but kept them in the fridge until it was time, and decorated with both frozen fruits (to help keep drinks cold without watering them down) and fresh fruits. Create your perfect starter drink, or head over to the bar for some fresh OJ and enjoy a nice Mimosa.
Tablescape:

Shhhh…. I’ll let y’all in on a little secret that’s going to make your life so much easier, this is a store bought cake that I spruced up myself. I know, I know, it felt almost like cheating when I placed the order for a plain white frosted cake at my local grocery store but TRUST me when I say the way it lowered my stress level the morning of the party… Worth it!
All I did was take my white frosted cake, twine, and fresh flowers to match the party and gently tied them around the outside of the cake. As you can see this will work much better on a fondant cake rather than a frosted one.
And actually the flowers proved to be too heavy for this small of a cake so I just stuck the stems inside the cake and no one could tell.

Also adding to the legal drinking age this party was designed for we came up with these super fun “Booze – Berries” these are Vodka Infused strawberries – but any type of hard alcohol will work, even a nice Margarita mix would be yummy.

Finally, my FAVORITE part of the whole party. The Pretzel Bar. I will make sure to put up an in depth tutorial on how we built this soon! It added such a fun vibe to the party and who doesn’t love floating carbs!

Originally I planned to dedicate the Pretzel Bar to its own table because I loved it SO much but, the empty space below it made the perfect host for a Chips and Salsa Bar. This way the dips could be used for either.
Thank you so much for reading and i cant wait to see you all in the parties to come. Let us know in the comments below how you like to kick off your summer!
